To a degree, "gentleman" signified a man who did not need to work, and the term was particularly used of those who could not claim nobility or even the rank of esquire. Widening further, it became a politeness for all men, as in the phrase "Ladies and Gentlemen,..." and this was then used (often with the abbreviation Gents) to indicate where men could find a lavatory, without the need to indicate precisely what was being described.
hahahahahahaha wtf, only gentlemen can find the lavatory without asking, like they have some psychic connection to the toilet. I'll stick with the savages and urinate wherever I damn well please, thank you. Which consequently is usually a redwood tree OR banana slug; sometimes both if I'm lucky.
News, news, news.
1. I'm even surprising myself by updating this thing.
2. So as I posted before I played my number 2 public gig tonight for a Halloween party.
Gig number 1 was in Shreveport this summer and was a little unnerving.
Tonight on the other hand was great; even with a nerve wracking crowd of friends who
had been waiting to here me play for weeks.
3. I want to kick myself in the ass for not recording the set.
4. Drunk people that want you to explain mixing records to them are at once insanely cute and utterly annoying at the same time. Do not ask the dj for lessons while they're at the decks at a party...unless you're :
(a) related [blood is thicker than vinyl].
(b) absurdly hot.
(c) sarcastic [read, cute sarcasm, with thirty second dance session behind the tables].
(d) the next dj and retarded to boot.
Otherwise, vacate the dj booth because you're in the way. C'est la vie.
5. I like to number my lists of news.
6. The NASA game is trucking along. We're supplying screen shots this coming week for the second round
of grant money. If we get the proper funding, I might very well be able to work this as a full time job
for a while after I graduate.
7. Texturing 3d models is both a pain in the ass and seriously rad; I'm not really sure why I didn't pick this up sooner.
8. Big news with the project group that I'm working with, headed by Ed Osborn and including DANM compatriots. We had a representative from the Zero/One Festival (
ISEA site for Zero/One) come and check out our proof of concept for our audio piece titled
Outfield. He liked the prototype and will be including it in the Zero/One fest this Spring on a much larger scale. Go Team!
9. No number 9 sucka.
